frequently asked questions

see the terms & conditions for more session guidelines

where will my massage be?

Your massage will take place in your home, unless you have booked me for chair massages at your upcoming event. I do not do massage sessions in private hotel rooms. 15 minutes are reserved before your session starts to set up; likewise, 15 minutes are reserved after your session ends to breakdown.

how do I prepare my space for the session?

You do not need to provide any materials; I will bring everything that is needed. However, if you'd like to set up a vibe to your space to maximize your spa-at-home experience (music, lights, candles, etc.) please do so!

At least 5' x 9' of space must be cleared in order for me to safely move around the massage table. I am happy to help move light furniture to make room, if needed; however, I am not responsible for anything damaged in the process.

Please ensure no pets have access to the massage area. No other people besides the massage recipient will be allowed in the massage area, including children. However, parents/guardians of minors who are receiving treatments MUST stay during the entire duration of the massage. If you are a caretaker of an adult recipient with physical disabilities, you are also free to stay during the session, after helping them onto the table. But if you, the caretaker, prefer to leave during the session, please be back by the end of the session to assist unloading off the table.

If you have any concerns, please let me know before the appointment and we can discuss options.

how do I prepare myself for the session?

Please shower and be fully dressed before my arrival. Use the bathroom before the beginning of the treatment session to avoid having to interrupt the session; interrupted sessions will not get time added back. Avoid eating 2 hours before the session. I recommend removing all makeup and jewelry, as well as tying up your hair or wearing a bonnet/shower cap to avoid it getting snagged or oily. If you can, please set your devices to Do Not Disturb. Stay well hydrated between each appointment for better results.

...do I have to be naked?

No. The most important thing is for you to feel safe & comfortable. It's standard to remove everything but your underwear, but that is completely up to you. I will leave the room to allow you to undress and will not re-enter until you are lying on the table under the provided linens.* You will be fully draped in the linens the entire session; only the area that will be undraped and exposed is the area being worked on. I will exit the room after the session ends to allow you to hop off the table and redress. If you still feel you want to keep a layer of clothing on during the session, that is okay! I will still be able to melt your tension, address knots, and get you relaxed! But heads up, some treatments will not be available without skin exposed, like cupping, lymphatic drainage, and the CBD add-on.

* If you have issues with mobility and think you'll need assistance getting on/off the table, please let me know before the appointment.

what parts of my body will be worked on?

A session may include work on your back, shoulders, neck, arms, hands, glutes, legs, feet, scalp, and/or face. Please let me know before the session if you are seeking abdominal and/or hip flexor (iliopsoas) work. I do not, under any circumstances, work on genitals or breasts. Any request for me to do so will result in immediate termination of the session and will be charged 100% of the price of the service.

can I receive massage no matter what condition I'm in?

Unfortunately not. There are plenty of medical conditions that would make it inadvisable to receive certain techniques, treatments, or even massage as a whole. That's why it's imperative that, before you begin your session, you fill out the health history form that will be given to you before your session. It is very important that you inform me of any existing health conditions, surgeries, injuries, allergies, or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care for an immediate concern, it is advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to any session. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.
